Hundreds of students from Kinsale Community School set off this morning on their Sponsored Walk to raise funds for the Ciara O'Brien Trust. Despite the inclement weather the students set off cheerfully on their way knowing that they were showing solidarity with Ciara.
Ciara completed her Leaving Certificate at Kinsale Community School in June, 2015, and was a very positive and active member of the school community. Due to an unfortunate accident over the course of the summer, she received a spinal injury and is now wheelchair bound. At present two of Ciara’s siblings are attending Kinsale Community School.
The Walk was a resounding success and spirits were very high despite the weather. Currently the students have raised approximately €25,000 for the Ciara O'Brien trust and this is rising! The entire school community got involved and it was a very enjoyable event showcasing the team spirit, caring and support of not only the school community but also the community of Kinsale.
Well done to everyone!
